Though 100% chipped floors and solid color floors are equally resistant to stains and petroleum products, there are differences in texture, coating thickness, scratch resistance and repairability.

Solid color floors are very appealing due to the high gloss shine and the simplicity of cleaning up mess or spills. These floors are preferred by clients who do not have a high volume of traffic or expect very little industrial type usage of the floor. Solid color floors are easier to slip on due to the fact that there is very little chipping or anti-slip protection added to the coating to preserve the high gloss shine. Solid color floors if scratched or damaged are harder to repair due to the fact that epoxy is produced in lots, or batches, getting an exact color match can be difficult. In some cases, the entire floor may need to be coated again to preserve color integrity. Damage to a solid color floor is also much more noticeable than it would be on a 100% chipped floor.

The benefits of solid color floors is the cost, it is usually 15-20% less expensive to apply solid color floors.

100% chipped floors are thicker and have much more texture and slip resistance, these floors are best for applications such as residential garages, office's, industrial or mechanical shops. These floors are more scratch resistant, easier to repair and generally last longer than solid color floors. Chipped floors are very easy to maintain and offer years of usage and are often much more visually appealing to clients. We offer a large selection of colors and chip colors. Custom colors may be requested and require a color swatch of the requested color and a special order fee, special order colors may take 3 weeks to produce. All of our floors are sealed with a UV resistant polyurethane clear coat.
